Ling tosite sigure’s Sensational New Album i’mperfect to be Released in the UK and Europe from 24 June

JPU Records is proud to announce that it will be releasing i’mperfect, the ground-breaking new album from Japanese sensation Ling tosite sigure (pronounced Rin Tosh-teh Shi-goo-reh).

The album made its debut in Japan’s Oricon album chart today, smashing into fourth position. The news that it will be coming to Europe – the group’s first release outside of Japan – has already made the news across Japan’s major music and entertainment press, including MTV Japan, Yahoo! and Natalie.

Hailing from Saitama, just north of Tokyo, the trio has managed to smash through the country’s notorious indie rock scene to become one of the most talked about new bands of the decade. Their ferocious yet beautiful arrangements feature sharp and technical guitar work; thick, distorted basslines; and aggressively progressive beats set against haunting, intertwined male-female vocals. It all contributes to i’mperfect being one of the most refreshing, unique and powerful albums of the year.

AWOI: BIRTHDAY – New Album Reviewed and Out Now

Press photo AWOI album Birthday 2012

How do you imagine your perfect birthday? A riot of screaming, growling madness? If so, this BIRTHDAY is just the one for you. Post-hardcore visual kei band AWOI are bringing their album to Europe, available for digital download through Gan Shin Records. Get ready for a blast of eleven full tracks of fun, but unfortunately there’s not much by way of balloons or cake at this birthday party.

If you’ll excuse the party pun a little longer, there’s something for everyone at AWOI’s birthday; dance around to jazz driven track, Yakou Boogie, have a metal feast with Abelcain or go for the cherry on top of the cake, Unhappy Birthday To Me. The outstanding thing about this album is that despite being heavy in every track, the variation of vocals between singing, screaming and screaming gives a fast paced stamp of originality to every track. From chilly melodies to red hot rampages, one of the most surprising things is how quickly this album is over and you find yourself hitting play again.

AWOI show more improvements in style than ever before, they excel at quick changes and an impressively fast pace. Although the opening is not especially strong, it quickly builds up from the second track and keeps going until the brilliant finale, Unhappy Birthday To Me.

I would recommend AWOI to fans of Cradle of Filth, DIR EN GREY or SCREW
