A documentary film of L’Arc-en-Ciel‘s latest world tour will come to London this March with a screening at East London’s Rich Mix cinema on Sunday 8 March.
In 2012, L’Arc-en-Ciel, the prestigious Japanese rock band, celebrated its 20th anniversary with an international excursion which included the headlining gig at Madison Square Garden, rock’s most hallowed cathedral. It was the first ever for a Japanese act and during the tour, they played 17 shows for a total audience of half a million people across 14 cities, including a show at London’s Indigo at the O2.
The gigantic world tours is now turned into a documentary film, “Over The L’Arc-en-Ciel” which will be shown in a limited release for 8 days in select cinemas.
The Japanese-American director Ray Yoshimoto filmed the backstage scenes of the Madison Square Garden performance, a momentous occasion for Japanese music as a whole, and the band’s unknown aspect along with their overwhelming live performances.
After the announcement of releasing this film in Japan, many enthusiastic fans around the world raised their voices for international release of the film. To respond to the requests, it is now confirmed that the documentary will be shown in London as well as Indonesia, Thai, Singapore and Hong Kong where L’Arc-en-Ciel visited during their WORLD TOUR in 2012.
Tickets for the London screening are on sale now with a face value of £12.20.
