“Asia’s Hero” Chris Lee (Li Yuchun) to Make UK Debut at Wembley

Chinese pop anyone? Anyone? Well someone out there’s got a thing for it, as the country’s very own ‘super girl’ Chris Lee (Li Yuchun) is UK bound for the first time, and they’ve only gone and put her on at Wembley Arena!

According to the Live-Nation, tickets for China’s ‘top female artist’ go on sale from 9am on Friday 7 December, while the show itself will take place on Saturday 12 January 2013. Tickets are available from TicketMaster and LiveNation with several price brackets available; £28, £48, £68, £98 and £138 subject to booking fees.

Chris Lee started her impressive career by winning the first Super Girl singing contest in China to an audience of 208 million viewers. She has since built up a prominent career and become a true super star and pop icon by making records that set a higher standard for the pop music scene in China. She is the first idol chosen by a mass audience vote, which created a new era of mega pop stars in China.

Chris Lee is the first mainland pop artist to have won multiple international music awards, was dubbed “Asia’s Hero” by Time Magazine and visited London as the representative of Chinese’s young generation. As a singer Chris has released 6 albums with an incredible 47 No.1 singles and in addition to her music she has somehow found the time to extend her career to that of an actress featuring in China’s high earning movies, key supporter of public welfare, dancer and fashion icon.

Following the release of her latest album Old If Not Wild, Chris Lee kicked off her first ever world tour “Chris Lee Wild World Tour 2012 – 2013” in Beijing on 26 August 2012. The VIP floor seats sold out in a ground breaking 2 minutes followed by the entire concert selling out in just 2 hours. After five sold out shows in China, Chris Lee will extend her world tour and perform a headline show at London’s Wembley Arena.

Her show in London is tipped to feature story-telling choreography, 3D projections and stage costumes exclusively designed by fashion icon Jean Paul Gaultier.

About Tom Smith
Some say he's fuelled on nothing but energy drinks, and that when he visits Japan, he spends the whole time engaging the ground in an all too familiar way. But what we do know is that his words on the country's entertainment and culture find their way into NEO Magazine on a monthly basis, while everything else finds its way here. Be it quirky news item from the Land of the Rising Sun, or a story so gruesome it'd be rude not to pass it on, you'll find it here along with his general posts about life, work and most importantly play. And yes, he has had articles printed in the likes of MCV, GamesMaster, 360 Gamer and more, thanks for noticing.
