MUCC: Nirvana and Arcadia Singles Receive European Release

Better late than never – Gan Shin Records have made the latest two maxi singles from MUCC available across Europe and the UK.

The first of the two is the band’s 2011 single Arcadia, featuring the Japanese house DJ Daishi Dance. The title track of the single sees MUCC return to their experiments with electronica, taking their music to a poppier level than ever before, while b-side ‘Home’ is a laid back ballad. The release also includes the ‘Thunder Groove’ version of their 2007 track ‘Fuzz’, the original version of which was included on the Cloverfield soundtrack – and is easily our favourite addition to the release. The three track single is available now from Amazon.co.uk and iTunes UK. If you don’t do digital, the physical Japanese edition of Arcadia can also be purchased by clicking here.

The newer of the two releases is Nirvana, MUCC’s latest single. The title track sees MUCC continue their affair with electronic music but combined with a much rockier edge than Arcadia. The second track on the single ‘Bals’ is a full-blown party piece that feels like it belongs in the group’s Shion period. Despite it’s ridiculous name, it will have any MUCC fan slapping their thighs to its upbeat rhythm. The release also features ‘Saishuressha – WAREHOUSE FLAVORED VER’, a track previously only available on the DVD edition of the Nirvana single. A dubstep/house remix of ‘Nirvana’ is also included on the maxi single. Nirvana can be purchased now from Amazon.co.uk and iTunes UK. The limited edition DVD release is also available by clicking here.

As their label’s a bit funny with having their music videos online, here’s an official live clip of the group performing ‘Falling Down’ from their album KARMA:

About Tom Smith
Some say he's fuelled on nothing but energy drinks, and that when he visits Japan, he spends the whole time engaging the ground in an all too familiar way. But what we do know is that his words on the country's entertainment and culture find their way into NEO Magazine on a monthly basis, while everything else finds its way here. Be it quirky news item from the Land of the Rising Sun, or a story so gruesome it'd be rude not to pass it on, you'll find it here along with his general posts about life, work and most importantly play. And yes, he has had articles printed in the likes of MCV, GamesMaster, 360 Gamer and more, thanks for noticing.
