UDPATED: If, unlike us, your ears have evolved to cope with the high frequency tones of vocaloid, you may be more than a little bit excited to learn that the genre’s fictional front-lady, Miku Hatsune, is coming to London on Monday 28 and Tuesday 29 November 2011.
Well, more correctly, her ‘Live’ Party is. And by ‘live’ we mean pre-recorded. The rather swanky Piccadilly Apollo Cinema will be showing the virtual idol’s ‘live’ show from Sapporo, North Japan, which took place over two days in August to celebrate the launch of the Hatsune Miku Live Party 2011 Blu-ray, DVD and CD combo in Japan on 16 November. The package, for better or worse, isn’t scheduled for a UK release, but with the UK’s screening of the party more than a week after release (as opposed to the early screenings America’s getting this week), it would make sense for promoters More2Screen to try and shift a few copies in the process.
Tickets are on sale now and cost £18 for adults, or £15 concessions. To purchase tickets for Monday’s screening (starting at 6:30pm) click here, and for Tuesday’s screening (starting at 8:30pm) click here. There is also a limited amount of vocaloid available on iTune UK which feature Miku Hantsune. If you find any worth listening to, please let us know. In the meantime, here’s a live clip so you can see what all the fuss is about. It’s taken from her show in Tokyo earlier this year:
